Goofing around...

Logan is a "ham" when it comes to taking his picture. He loves looking at himself in the digital camera and on my cell phone. Here are some pics for you to enjoy. I have some cuter pics from my cell phone, however, for some reason they won't appear. Oh yeah, and enjoy the movie. Check out his eyes when he looks at the phone to see his picture. I love my "bubba"!

Tri-City Water Follies 2008

Unfortunately, Donald had to work this weekend. Fortunately, it was at this years water follies on the columbia river. Saturday morning, Donald left very early to help set up. I later showed up with Logan, my father and my 2 siblings, Blake and Kara.

It was very fun. We were right on the river and we were very close to the boats. On Sunday, I showed up later to allow Logan to eat and take a nap. Here are some pictures to enjoy!

Another night at the movies...

Friday night, Donald and I were able to go to a movie without the baby! We went with our friends, Keith & Melissa and David & Lani, to see "Batman: The Dark Knight". We dropped off our little boy with my parents. This was the first time I have left him alone for a long period of time. Needless to say that I recieved a call during the movie from my little sister, Kara, saying that the baby was crying. I quickly asked to speak with mom, who was unaware that Kara had called me, and she said that he was fine; he was just not taking a bottle. It was a good night and a very good movie.

A night out to the movies

Last night Donald, Logan and I went to a movie... in the theaters! :p We went with our friends, Keith and Melissa, for the evening showing of "Get Smart". It was a funny movie! Logan actually did pretty well. At first all he wanted to do was look at the lights on the walls and then he paid attention to some of the movie, but about half way into it, he wanted to go to sleep. And that meant that I had to stand up and rock him. Luckily I was able to watch the last 45 min.-hour while he was sleeping with no interruptions.

Sleeping arrangement update and 6 month check-up

This morning Logan had his 6 month check-up. His current weight is 18 lbs 5.5 oz. He is also 25" long. He is such a ladies man and always smiles at the nurses and his doctor! Unfortunately, he also had to have 3 shots... my poor man.
Well last night was a success in the "sleeping in his own crib" department. Logan fell asleep around 8 pm. And around 9 pm I placed him in his crib. He whined around 10 pm because he was hungry, but he fell right back to sleep. He didn't wake up again until 1:38 am!!! I couldn't believe what time it was when I woke up. I fed him again, and he again fell right back to sleep. But I kind of missed him, so I allowed him to sleep next to me. He didn't wake up until 5 and then again at 8. Hopefully tonight will be just as good!!!

Logan's NEW sleeping arrangement...

Let me start off by saying that ever since Logan was born, he has been sleeping with me. Even while we were in the hospital, he slept with me in the bed. I never let him sleep in the nursery or in his little bassinet bed that they roll the babies around in. He quite enjoyed being cuddled in between my arm and body. With that said, Yesterday, Donald and I bought Logan a crib. I know, I know, He's 6 months old and you are just now getting him a crib?! Well, Now that he's getting so big it's hard for him to sleep in between us. We (I...) wake up in the middle of the night to feed him and he's on his stomach with his head toward Donald and his legs kicking my stomach. He's just a worm in bed and I'm afraid that one of these days he's gonna roll towards Donald and Donald will be asleep and won't realize that he's there and will smash him! So we went to Target and I swindled my way into getting a good price on the crib that I like.

Last Night was the first night that we tried to put him in it. He had slept in it for about 45 minutes earlier that day during his nap, but then woke up and started to play with the bumper. So I did the routine of feeding him cereal and veggies (last night was green beans....yum) while he watched Baby Einstein. Then he took a bedtime bath and relaxed while I read him a book and sang a song. After I took him out and put his pj's on, I nursed him to sleep. This routine usually works pretty well. I got him to sleep and allowed him to lay on my chest for a little bit so that I knew he was sound asleep. I walked to our room where his crib is set up (can you say "seperation anxiety" for me... the crib is in our room.) and as I leaned over to place him in, his eyes shot wide open and he stared at me. I put his pacifer back in his mouth and held his hand. As I tried to pull away, he rolled to his belly and started to play again with the bumper. After about 5 minutes he started to complain and wanted attention. I went back and rubbed his belly. That didn't work. So I took him out and rocked him back to sleep. I put him back in the crib and wouldn't you know, his eyes opened again only this time he immedietly started to whine and complain. This went on for about 30 minutes. Sometimes I would be able to get back into bed to pull the covers over me only to have him whine. Finally it was about 10:30pm and Donald was tired and wanted to go to sleep so I nursed Logan again and decided I had enough and just layed him in between us and he slept until about 3 am. The funny part about all of this was that if I were to place him in between us, he would instantly go to sleep and when I would try to place him in his crib he would be wide awake.

Tonight we will try this whole routine over again and hopefully someday he will just stay in his bed! Wish us luck!

6 Months Old....

I can't believe that Logan is 6 months old today! Just in the past month alone he has grown sooo much. He nows sits up alone, he rolls from front to back and then back to front, he reaches forward for things and almost gets to his knees. Hopefully by 9 months he will be walking, if not crawling. It's adorable to see his reaction when Donald comes home from work. Logan talks to him and laughs at everything Donald says... he sure does love his daddy! I will post some pictures later... gotta get back to my little man!
